ONE-Stop Cataract Surgery – a patient diary
Delighted Mrs Emilia Vargha from Hove had her cataracts treated using Centre for Sight’s One-Stop Cataract Service. She was delighted with the efficiency of the process and thrilled to share her experience with us!
One-Stop Cataract Surgery where consultation, testing, diagnosis, and surgery takes place at a single visit allowed Emilia to rapidly regain her sight with a marvellous outcome.
What was your vision like before your Surgery?
My vision before was quite bad. I could not focus very well, and it had an impact on my driving. I used to look in my car mirror, but it was hard to judge car distances, so it became dangerous, – I knew I had to get my sight restored.
I wanted to get my vision corrected and get back to doing the normal things again and especially be able to drive safely and comfortably. I waited a long time to have the treatment done elsewhere, so I did some further research and chose Centre for Sight because I knew I could have both – the appointment and Cataract surgery done the same day – very appealing.
I never had any nerves about the surgery and in fact I was actually very excited as I just wanted to have good vision again.
What was your vision like now?
I could not imagine having this kind of result at all. My vision has improved incredibly. I can read easily again, and driving is back to the normal standard I had prior to developing cataracts. I got exactly what I wanted and expected from this experience, it is absolutely perfect!

What was your experience like at Centre for Sight?
I was provided with information in advance and shown a video during the appointment of how the surgery would work which relaxed me a lot. I knew exactly what was going to happen and it gave me an idea of what my Consultant Mr Shahnazaryan was doing so I knew it was all going to be okay. It made my surgery experience smooth and easy.

I am now looking forward to seeing my grandchildren soon. As I was struggling to drive it made it harder to meet them, my new vision gives me a big opportunity to see them more often again… so Thank You!
