First Intralase patient in the UK
Warning – This video contains scenes of surgery.
A video of the first patient to undergo Laser vision correction using the Intralase laser in the UK.
With traditional LASIK, a flap is cut using a thin blade in a sophisticated machine called a microkeratome. IntraLASIK uses a revolutionary laser that is much safer and far more accurate. Instead of cutting, it separates a layer on the cornea and converts it into a flap.
The procedure performed by Medical Director Sheraz Daya at the Centre for Sight was filmed in August 2004.
