My Centre for Sight ‘journey’ began in 2016.

In 2011, a local consultant advised me to be extremely careful if ever I needed cataract surgery because of my Pseudoexfoliation syndrome.

Thus in 2016, I selected Mr Daya and trifocals (as described in my previous story.) He has not disappointed me over the eight years since those procedures.

“It was a wise choice to be in such expert hands”.

I continue to think of my vision freedom as pure magic and, amazingly my eyes feel even better in 2024. According to the latest eye test, my vision is twenty-twenty. Nowadays, the only spectacles to which I am psychologically and physically attached are, my sunglasses.

Recently, I was informed that I had secondary ocular tension in my right eye.

Locally, I was offered SLT but again after much research, I discovered that Centre for Sight performed DSLT (one of the few centres in the UK to offer this procedure). After emailing Mr Daya with lots of questions, I felt relieved, reassured and enlightened with the clarity of his responses. Most importantly, I trusted him with my eyes.

Hence, I decided to have DSLT done at Centre for Sight.

“Mr Daya is even more dynamic and inspirational than when we last met and as ever, at the cutting edge of any technological ocular developments”.

The Clinic Manager and Centre for Sight team are all wonderfully reassuring, efficient and empathic. Everyone goes above and beyond what is expected and required. The specially designed environment is soothing and aesthetically pleasing for anxious and apprehensive patients (like me).

As expected, everything went like clockwork including the tests, and the painless DSLT which only lasted a few seconds as opposed to around 40 minutes for SLT. Prior to being discharged from the Centre, the right eye pressure was as low as 14.

The photograph of me (please see below) was taken sitting on a vibrant pink settee in the foyer of the garden suite rooms at the Alexander & Utopia Spa hotel in 2016. I stayed there in both 2016 and 2024. I was between trifocal procedures when that image was taken. Thus, my colour therapy began when I felt as if I still had an ’old’ eye whilst acquiring a ‘new’ one. Colour is such an important aspect of vision. After the replacement of both lenses; it was even more amazing to see that vivid pink colour in all its glory.

Post DSLT (2024), I had no side effects. I felt that the right eye was moist, less dry and more open. In the hotel, I became aware that gold and silver coloured objects seemed to have been newly polished. It was as if my right eye had magically, like those objects, regained its ‘sheen’.

All treatments (2016 &2024) were rejuvenating experiences for my eyes.

“It is a long way to travel to Centre for Sight, but to be in such safe and innovative hands, the inconvenience is worth it”.
