Sheraz Daya’s interview with Optometry Today
Centre for Sight’s medical director Sheraz Daya was interviewed by Optometry Today – a publication from the Association of Optometrists’ journal and provided his insights about what the future of eye care holds and his crystal ball for the future. He discusses enhanced services, cataract surgical development and most importantly patient safety.
Interestingly, amazing developments in the recent years have gone back to the past and it is fascinating to see how we re-visit old concepts using new technology. With the opening of Rayner’s Ridley Innovation Centre in Worthing, West Sussex early this year – the value of combining good science, innovation and collaboration with doctors to accomplish most significant breakthrough in cataract surgery will continue to take place.
Mr. Daya predicts exciting new developments in technology will provide increased precision when it comes to diagnostics and will make a large difference in supporting ophthalmologists and optometrists. With the ever increasing ageing population, it will be important to find innovative solutions for eye surgeons, ophthalmologists and optometrists to identify and manage patients together providing best care with no compromise on patient safety.
