From my very first phone call enquiry (with Karen who was so professional and helpful answering my initial questions – such a great sense of humour as well!) and throughout my whole patient journey – I cannot express how well I was looked after by Mr Daya and his team.  Being a nurse myself – I carried out my own research to ensure I had the best surgeon for replacing my lens.  There is no doubt that Mr Daya is outstanding and the best man for the job!  He was also recommended to me by other health care professionals which really is the best recommendation you could possibly get (as well as reassuring).  Being a nurse means I have a very overactive imagination!  However, this was really not necessary because I could not have been more well cared for.

 

I had already begun recommending my family and friends after my first consultation as I was so impressed!

 

Karen organised for Nikki to call me and again, was so helpful and provided extensive information prior to the initial appointment to ensure this surgery was right for me as well as providing lots of information to read before attending.   You can easily see why the Clinic has such great feedback – everything flows so professionally.

When I visited the Clinic, it was beautifully clean and had a great relaxed, yet professional environment.  There was a great variety of hot/cold drinks as well as biscuits to choose from.  Rachel is so warmly welcoming of all patients and a great front of house ambassador for the Clinic, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble.  Rachel is a fountain of knowledge and also helped answer the many questions I had as well as after care and precautions to ensure your eyes are safe and to maximise healing.

Rachel as well as Nikki helped ensure that I could get appointments to fit around our busy home life where we foster 4 teens as well as both of us working.

I have to say that the technical investigations are another level – nothing I’ve ever experienced before and far superior than an optician offers and even an NHS hospital.  The technician (who also manages the lab) looking after me was called Rea.  I was so impressed by her professionalism, incredible knowledge and patience explaining everything to ensure (and always checking) that I understood fully what was happening at each point.  Rea really put my mind at ease and understood my overactive imagination lol!

Mr Daya encourages and enjoys being asked questions and nothing was too much trouble – it is very apparent why he is a world class surgeon and why so many people travel from all over the world just for him.  He really understands how nervous patients can be about their eyes and ensures you feel confident as well as reassured.

I have to say, every time I visited, Rea and Rachel went out of their way to check I was ok which was so appreciated – they made me feel very special especially as I was still naturally a bit nervous on the day of my operation.  I needn’t have been – I was cared for so well.  Pope looked after me pre and post op with such thorough checks, delivering all the necessary eye drops to prepare you with such a fantastic caring patient manner and professionalism.  Sam also looked after me pre-op and during theatres, actually holding my hand which I needed and she ‘just knew’.  Dr Lu ensured I was comfortable with just the right amount of sedation to feel relaxed. Such great teamwork and all working together to ensure the best patient experience.  Everyone introducing themselves, explaining procedures (thank you Alex too!) – this is often taken for granted but not here.

Again, I was fortunate to be looked after by Rea and she took extra time and care to ensure I was really well looked after, checking all of my scans and preparing them ready for the Consultant.  Rea was very reassuring with my progress and what to expect.

 

On my last visit, I was looked after by Lin (who is an Administration dream) – everything checked, double checked and again – ensuring you have everything you might need.  Stephi, my post op technician was again, very welcoming, professional and very thorough – ensuring everything was prepared for Mr Daya to review in a timely manner.

The whole experience is managed exceptionally well, to perfection and you couldn’t ask for more –

I really didn’t like wearing glasses and they were annoying to my lifestyle – now I never have to wear them again!  I am beyond happy and I could not have wished for a better Surgeon and his team to have made it happen!  Thank you all so much.  You deserve nothing but 5 stars.
